Types of Cartoons

Feature Title

I like to divide cartoons into groups:

Cutsey: Mainly for the younger crowd love care bearof 6 and below. Some cutesy cartoons can be written with adult appeal. The focus is on basic morals or fables. Examples: Care Bears, Smurfs, Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Bright, My Little Pony, Pocket Dragons etc.

All Around Fun: They make you laugh, have a general appeal and poke fun at people, politics and themselves. They can also be heartwarming and certainly memorable. Ex: The Flintstones, Pokemon, Bugs Bunny, Tiny Toons, Freakazoid, Inspector Gadget

Action Adventure: Usually explores mature themes despite their target audience of ten year olds. Plenty of explosions, puzzles and quests. Ex: He-man, Galaxy Rangers, GI-Joe, the original Transformers, Batman the Animated Series, Thundercats, Reboot.

Adventure/mature: I don't care what the rating says these shows are for adults. Adults who don't like excessive sex and violence, but they still pack a punch. Ex: Spiderman, New Batman & Superman Adventures, Batman Beyond, the Xmen, Robotech, Beast Wars, War Planets.

Mature Adult: Sexual themes, profanity and violence. Truly adult centered. Laughs may come from the lowest denominator. Ex: Beavis & Butthead, Simpsons, Reign: The Conqueror, Spawn, South Park.
